The Nassau Mid-Island Chapter of The Barbershop Harmony Society (largest singing society of its kind in the world) has been delighting audiences and providing gratification for its members for well over half-a-century, and continues to draw great praise for its efforts.  The non-profit chorus -- called "Long Island Harmonizers" -- is currently composed of some 40 active male singers and provides an opportunity for instruction in the preserved art of barbershop harmony as well as to regularly perform.  In addition to chorus singing barbershop quartets are formed to compete in regional, national and international competitions, to entertain for special occasions, or to simply have fun. The Chapter -- largest on Long island -- meets and rehearses every Tuesday evening (with a few exceptions) at the Winthrop Hall of the Church of the Advent located at 555 Advent Street, Westbury, New York, at 8 p.m. Those interested are welcome to attend. The sound of 40 Nassau Mid-Island Chapter voices blended in harmony, appearances by its barbershop quartets, OR a combination of the two in performance can be scheduled by contacting the Chapter.
